Thanks to good weather the play area was opened on 8 July 2018 and the day was a great success

New Play Area Installation – progress report
At the May monthly Council meeting it was decided to make the opening a 2 hour event from 11.00 am to 1.00 pm, on Saturday 16 May with the ribbon cutting still at the noon when County Councillor leader Kay Cutts will do the honours. Play Area update Day 3 Things are progressing well on site now the weather has been kinder to us. The ground has been marked out and the footings are starting to be dug. You may have have noticed the tyre marks around the green. Please be assured a site meeting has been held with the project manager and all damage has been noted. Play area progress – Torrential rain hampers first day!
Typically the weather was not on side this morning when play area works began! Torrential rain whilst deliveries were made to site has caused some damage to the ground as you might expect. We sincerely apologise for this but rest assured, the Play Area Committee is working closely with the supplier and their installation team onsite to minimise any disruption during these works and they are of course under contract to make good any damage that may inadvertently be caused.… Read More »Play area progress – Torrential rain hampers first day!

Playground Update Following the appointment of HAGS to supply and install the equipment, the following timetable is agreed: Manufacturing period: 12 weeks 29 January to 23 April 2018 Pre-start meeting: w/c 23 April Site set-up (Welfare, Storage and Herris Fencing) : w/c 30 April Installation: w/c 30 April to 21 May Install safety surfacing/reinstate area; second fix – swing seats: w/c 21 May Provisional Grand Opening: Sunday 27 May at 1pm March 2018
